AGS is currently seeking an Pharmacy Technician for our team.
This class orders, tracks, organizes, and reconciles prepackaged pharmaceuticals received from outside contracted pharmacy and performs a range of staff support functions. This position falls under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
This is a “mandatory-testing” position that requires Drug Testing.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Comply with all federal, state, correctional health care, Health Services policies, regulations and guidelines
Comply with the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), Florida Model Jail (FMJ), and Florida Corrections Accreditation Standards (FCAC) standards
Types prescription data into the pharmacy computerized profiling/filing system;
Ensures prescription orders are faxed to the contracted pharmacy for processing
Receives pharmaceuticals and verifies receipt against requisition
Assists in the training of health care staff in the use of the pharmacy computer program, implementation of pharmacy policies, and any other aspect of correctional pharmacy operation
Maintains pharmacy files on prescriptions, requisitions, medication logs, drug, and patient information, purchase orders, and other records as required by the pharmacist
Delivers requested pharmacy products to specific areas as needed; may be required to pick up emergency pharmaceutical supplies from local sources and/or other institutions
Communicates with other health care professional staff members ensuring accuracy of written prescriptions
Inspects pharmacy inventory on a monthly basis for expires items.; checks pharmacy stock to determine if it is at the required lever, rotates stock properly to insure freshness; returns expired items with the proper paperwork

Qualifications:
Minimum Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Licenses and Certifications
• Registered Pharmacy Technician State of Florida Upon Hire Required or
• Pharmacist Intern State of Florida Upon Hire Required
