Emergency Dispatcher

AGS, is currently recruiting for Emergency Communication Dispatcher who are highly reliable, compassionate, and experienced in Orlando or surrounding areas.

Job Description: 
  • Provides customer service to the citizens of Seminole County and internal customers.
  • Dispatches and tracks fire/rescue units to various emergencies within the County.
  • Operates control consoles, master records, computer terminals, and computer-aided dispatch.
  • Answers emergency and non-emergency calls via 9-1-1 system, radio, and other telephone lines.
  • Answers incoming calls and extracts necessary information from citizens, including evaluating calls to determine the nature and urgency of the call.
  • Contacts outside agencies and other departments to coordinate aid (i.e., contacts utility companies to inform that wires are down or to arrange for electrical shut-offs, contacts the water services department to arrange for water turn-off, contacts law enforcement for police assistance)
  • Answers after hours calls for various departments
    of the County.
  • Consults supervisor on non-routine matters
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to apply
  • Subject to pass a background/security investigation
  • Must be able to Type min 35 wpm with a typing test required.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
Must obtain CPR certification, Florida 911 Public Safety Telecommunication certification, and the International Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within one year from hire and maintain these certifications as required for continued employment in the position.
Experience:
  • Six months experience of clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position
Work Schedule:
  • Full-time (some shifts may depend on availability)
Background Check:
  1. Two (2) levels of background checks shall be performed
 Drug Screen:
  1.  Five panel drug screen to include amphetamines, cocaine metabolites, marijuana metabolites, opiate metabolites and phencyclidine.
